Dublin Artist Cooney Tunes Is Next Up With His New Single “Take It Back”
Born in Dublin, Ireland on July 24th, 1996 (age 24) Cooney Tunes could be one of Ireland’s next rising stars in the music industry. Cooney mainly grew up in Ballyroan, Laois in the countryside in the Midlands. His real name is Seán Cooney. He is upbeat and an extremely animated person. Growing up he watched a lot of Looney Toons and other cartoon shows the name Cooney Tunes fit him perfectly. The name is heavily inspired by his childhood for his music career.
He has always had a strong passion for music and since a very young age, he’s always been a creative person. In school, he was extremely good at creative writing. He then started writing and looking for studios to record music. He later found an engineer & producer and hasn’t looked back ever since. Their studio is in Brisbane.
Cooney Tunes started writing music seriously in May of 2020. He then realized he needed to change his life for the better by going for a career, not a regular 9 to 5 job.
When listening to some of his catalog I couldn’t but help realize some of his flows and delivery resembled Eminem. Some of the artists that inspired and influenced his sound range from Linkin Park to Kendrick Lamar to Denzel Curry to even Ed Sheeran. His unique style was something that really stood out to me when listening to the “Take It Back” track.
I asked Cooney Tunes how he came up with the concept for his new song “Take It Back”?
I just thought about writing a song directed at me. Take it back is said each time like someone is telling me to apologise or take back what I said and I’m just like no. If you don’t like it, or me then tough! I’m just being honest.
Cooney Tunes currently has 2 more singles that will be released this year along with a 5–6 song EP at the end of the year. Then another 10 songs to be released when they are ready but they are still a work in progress! He is also working on more new music with other artists for the first time in his career.
The main goal for Cooney is to start living a lifestyle more suited to suit him. Music and entertainment full time so he doesn’t have to work any job that he isn’t passionate about. He wants to steer away from things that take time away from writing songs and practicing the drums and bass. He is in the process of starting to learn instruments also.
My music is a straight route to my personality also and alot of my friends say that now. I’m releasing 98% of my songs in chronological order of how I wrote them and recorded them.
