Queens artist Joe Ness Drops the first single “SNL” & Christmas Track “Swear On A Reindeer”
Queens, NY up and coming artist Joe Ness has dropped his latest single “SNL” from his upcoming third album and a brand new single “Swear On A Reindeer”. “SNL” shows the versatile style of this artist as we have never heard before, the track brings together punk rock yet a modern mainstream feel to it. While Swear On A Reindeer is a Christmas-time hit delivered with powerful vocals from Ness.
Joe was actually Born in Brooklyn, New York and for the majority of his life, he was raised by two women. Growing up his favorite subjects in school were science and English. He actually entered into a poetry jam for extra credit and had the best poem that night. Ness told us his English teacher ended up asking for his autograph! He would go on later to start recording music with his cousins using German software specializing in video editing, audio editing, & DAW called Magix. They used to record using an Xbox headset.
Joe began to grasp that music was what he was put here to do he told us as a kid every morning he used to wake up and sing Usher’s Entire “My Way” album and annoy his mom.
I used to have dreams every night that I was part of N’sync or even Dru Hill and in the entire dream I’m just on different stages. That’s how I knew it was something I really wanted to do
We asked how he came up with the stage name to get a deeper understanding of the rising up-and-coming artist. Joe said..
My last name is Jones — so I originally Jo — Nes but the hyphen used to give me some problems when it came to people discovering who I am, so with a few changes I added an E and an extra S — Joe Ness
Joe grew up listening to a lot of different kinds of music which shows throughout his catalog especially with the new tracks as of late. He listened to a lot of “Fall Out Boy”, “Simple Plan”, and “Panic! At the disco” just to name a few! You can hear these influences throughout some of these tracks. Ness also stated…
I also love and admire artists like Prince, Lenny Kravits, MJ — Justin Bieber — Chris Brown as well as Drake, Fabolous, and Joe Budden
Ness came up with the concept for his album by realizing a lot of people are going through tough times right now and what’s happening with a lot of the world. There isn't too much good so he felt it was important for him to try and spread more love and more feel-good music in hopes of helping some people get through these tough times.
In the future, some of the main goals he has set out are to work with some of the top artists in the music industry and some of his favorites including stars like Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and Drake.
We asked Joe if he wants to stay independent or if he is looking to get signed. He stated…
I’m not sure I guess we’ll see when the convo happens. Can never say never, but if things work out with a label .. sure but I don’t think they are really needed at this point either.
If he were to sign with a label Joe expressed interest in signing to Drakes OVO Records or Island Record because he thinks these two would be the best fit for his sound and help him reach the fans he is striving to achieve. Ness said he would love to do more in the entertainment industry such as acting or even directing and creating his own film.
Joe Ness has his third album on the way entitled “Mood Swing 2” and a lot of surprises coming soon! He is also working on his merchandise. Ness is just putting some finishing touches on the brand.
